A bit more about Jill

After a 26-year career teaching in elementary schools around the world and earning a Master of Education in Library Science, I turned my love of photos, storytelling, and organizing into a new path. My business, Enjoy the Photo Moments, helps people preserve, organize, and share their memories through custom photo books, scanning services, and personalized workshops.

Originally from Toronto, Canada, I’ve had the joy of traveling to over 50 countries and living in four—Canada, the United States, Greece, and Singapore. These experiences shaped my appreciation for stories, cultures, and the importance of preserving memories. I now call Maryland home, just northwest of Washington, DC.

Originally called Enjoy the Moments—a name inspired by my late father’s favorite sign-off—my business continues to honor his legacy by helping others slow down and celebrate what matters most.

As a Certified Photo Manager, I work with individuals and families to bring order to photo chaos, breathe new life into old images, and ensure treasured moments are never lost.

When I’m not scanning my father’s life collection or wrangling my own digital photos, you can usually find me on the tennis court or the golf course.

hello…

My name is Jill Rivers.

I am a teacher. Librarian. Organizer. Storyteller. Curator. & Creative.

I have taught for the past 26 years in the USA and abroad; recently earning a Master's degree in Library and Informational Science.

Combining my love of helping others, organizing and making photo books has inspired me to help others tell their stories.

My friends call me

An “adventurous, ambitious, authentic, creative, curious, driven, enthusiastic, helpful, kind, organized, perceptive, passionate, proactive, self-motivated, thoughtful” problem-solver.

But you can call me Jill.

Following in my father’s footsteps as the family photographer,

He was taking slides, I was taking prints. We loved sharing the candid images with friends and family.

As my father grew older, he understood the importance of time is precious. He always signed his emails and Facebook messages with “Enjoy the Moments,” and thus, a tribute to my Dad, I initially named my business.*

*As of July 1, 2025, I officially changed my company name to Enjoy the Photo Moments to better reflect my focus on preserving memories through photo organizing, scanning, and storytelling—while continuing to offer the same trusted services and care.

I am grateful that our family went through all of my Dad’s slides when he was alive.

Dad had an impeccable memory and had a story for each slide and who was on each slide. We sorted through the slides and kept the best ones which I scanned (digitized). Not only was this helpful to have all the photographs named correctly (metadata) but when he passed away in 2021, I was able to quickly collate photos of him for the memorial.
